Fodor's Expert Review Sakura Ridge

5601 York Hill Rd., Hood River, Oregon, 97031, USA

The five warm but sleekly furnished rooms of this contemporary lodge-style B&B on a 72-acre farm on the south side of town offer magical panoramas of Mt. Hood amid a welcome absence of clutter. Rooms are furnished with hand-hewn hickory- and cherrywood beds, tables, and chairs; all but one have good-size windows overlooking the mountain, while one room looks toward the still-majestic Hood River Valley. For a splurge, opt for the Mt. Hood or Orchard room, each with private deck, fireplace, and deep soaking tub. Innkeeper Deanna Joyer uses eggs from the farm and local preserves and jams to prepare hearty breakfasts.
