Fodor's Expert Review The Berry Botanic Garden

There are no berries to pick at this public garden and research center, which contains an extraordinary collection of rare and native plants cultivated by accomplished gardener Rae Selling Berry. Tranquil paths wind through native plants, rhododendrons, and unusual alpine flora on the wooded 6¼-acre estate near Lewis & Clark College. Due to a local ordinance the garden can only receive visitors by appointment, so call a day ahead.
