Fodor's Review

An institution in the Cape Fear region (there are also locations in Wrightsville Beach, Wilmington, Chapel Hill), this hot-dog joint is known for various wieners, all with individual names. You have a choice of five kinds of hot dogs, including vegetarian, with 13 choices of toppings. The "North Carolina" comes with chili, slaw, and mustard. The "Surfer Dog" is topped with cheese and vegetarian bacon bits. For the health conscious and allergy-afflicted, there are also gluten-free buns and fat-free dogs. In Southport there's limited inside seating, so you can eat outside at picnic tables.
