Fodor's Expert Review The Flying Melon Café

Ocracoke Island

Fodor's Choice
One of the, if not the, top restaurants in Ocracoke, the Flying Melon focuses on seafood with Louisiana Creole and Southern twists (the owners lived in New Orleans) creating dishes like seafood gumbo and fried green tomatoes with remoulade sauce. The atmosphere is lively, the service is friendly, and there's a full bar to quench your thirst. Dinner is the main meal here, but lunch is served in season.
