Fodor's Review

Hearts were broken when this restaurant, owned by powerful North Carolina Senator Marc Basnight and family, burned in 2007, but it was rebuilt in a contemporary style with simple pine tables, large windows with waterfront views, and a huge glass-walled wine rack. North Carolina produce and seafood star here, including OBX-style clear clam chowder, she-crab soup, pan-blackened bluefish, and whole fried flounder. Soft-shell crabs in season come from an on-site shedding facility, and an extensive herb garden provides fresh seasoning.
