At this consistently good restaurant on Asheville's thriving "restaurant row," the food is local and seasonal, the prices are reasonable, the service is agreeable but not fawning, and there's a buzz without being overly loud. Chestnut is in a delightfully refurbished 1920s plumbing supply shop, updated with art from a nearby gallery. A selection of medium- and large-size plates will suit whether you're hungry or just want a light meal.
