Albemarle Inn

86 Edgemont Rd., Grove Park, Asheville, North Carolina, 28804, USA

This well-established B&B in an upscale North Asheville residential area housed the Hungarian composer Béla Bartók in the early 1940s, when he was creating his "Asheville Concerto"; you can stay in his room on the third floor, although Juliet's Chamber, with its private balcony overlooking lovely gardens, may appeal more to modern Romeos. Some rooms have working fireplaces and canopied beds. The elaborate breakfast is served in a sunny veranda or in the dining room by a fireplace.

PROS

  • lovely residential neighborhood
