Fodor's Expert Review Smorgasburg

Williamsburg Eclectic Fodor's Choice

More than a hundred of New York City's best and brightest cooks and culinary artisans unite in Williamsburg at the Marsha P. Johnson State Park on the waterfront (between Kent Avenue and North 7th Street) every Saturday to form the city's hottest foodie market. An offshoot of the Brooklyn Flea, this food bazaar extravaganza has launched countless culinary crazes, and most vendors are small-scale, homegrown operators. Lines can grow long, and vendors can sell out as the afternoon goes on, so head over early in the day if possible. The market is also open on Sundays in Prospect Park and Fridays at the World Trade Center, outside the Oculus. Smorgasburg is open from April through October, but check the website to confirm.
