Fodor's Review

The idea that you can't find good south-of-the-border cuisine in the Big Apple is quickly fading, thanks in part to this Union Square restaurant (there are several other locations in the city too, including ones at Lincoln Center and TriBeCa). Although the spacious, colorfully lighted interior might tip you off that authenticity is best sought elsewhere, if you're looking for high-quality, well-executed Mex-flavored fare, step right up, hombre. Start with an order of guac (made table-side), moving on to the pork belly and scallop tacos, soul-comforting chicken tortilla pie, or the crispy pork shank–-all of which taste better with a margarita. The daily happy hour at the bar is a great deal but gets crowded.
