Much about this intimate candlelit French bistro, tucked off the beaten restaurant-path of 3rd Avenue, is a surprise, including the fact that its chef-owner, Katarzyna Ploszaj, was born and raised on a farm in Poland, not France. Perhaps the best revelation, though, is the constantly changing menu, which features a small selection of seasonally inspired entrées. Depending on the season, there might be dishes like succulent, crispy duck confit with creamy cabbage and roasted potatoes, and homemade bread pudding with walnuts and salted caramel sauce for dessert.
