Fodor's Expert Review Ippudo
Crowds wait hours for the ramen noodles at Ippudo, the first American branch of the famous Japanese chain. Loyal patrons say it's all about the rich pork-based broth (there is a vegetarian version available, though it lacks the depth of flavor), but those in the know order sleeper-hit appetizers like the peppery chicken wings or pork buns. There are two other locations in Midtown at 321 West 51st Street and 24 West 46th Street.
