This place is good fun—a modern general store selling beachy home style items, cute kitchenware, sweet baby goods, and all sorts of pet treats and necessities. Watch out: the candy at the checkout counter is hard to resist.
In a town full of quaint boutiques, chic antiques, and fashion, this shop stands out—dimly lit, with a funky, rock-and-roll vibe, its walls and ceiling are covered with old record albums and vintage items like a photograph of "The Fonz." Stock includes hand-rolled cigars; a huge selection of hot sauce, including their own branded sauces; bags of coffee; incense; and candles.
Hildreth's is more than a store; it's a piece of history. In 1842 it started as a general store stocked with such goods as flour, wheels of cheese, salt, and fruits, delivered by merchant ship via Sag Harbor and carted here by horse and wagon. Today visitors will find the latest in home furnishings, bedding, accessories, and gifts, as well as children's furniture, toys, and sweet baby clothes. An outdoor patio store is located just down the road at No. 15.

Antique dolls, dollhouses, and furnishings are restored and sold here, and other small vintage toys, furniture, pottery, and depression glass are on the shelves. If you have a doll in distress, you can bring it to Jan's Long Island Doll Hospital for repairs and restoration. Housed in a quaint standalone house, it's worth a browse.
High-quality, sometimes pricey, name-brand footwear is the draw in this beachy, sporty little shop, but you can also find cozy sweatshirts, sunglasses, and Vera Bradley bags as well as locally made perfumes and natural, chemical-free lotions, bug spray, and hand sanitizer.
This isn't just a jewelry store; its an alternate universe of peace, love, and silver. During the summer season, silver artist Kenny Goodman showcases his wearable and affordable art, much of it inspired by the nature and culture of Fire Island.
For beach clothing and accessories, as well as biking, surfing, and skating gear and rentals, check out Khanh's Sports. Mini golf is offered at their other location at 500 Montauk Highway, and is open late on weekends all summer long.
This Ocean Beach shop has lots of fun and fashionable stuff for the beach—T-shirts, sweatshirts, swimsuits, cover-ups, hats, toys, and towels—and it's a great place to pick up a souvenir. You can find secret sale items upstairs behind the velvet rope; ask a salesperson to assist you.
Every piece of the quirky yet elegant jewelry that Lee Elliott crafts—unique pieces like peace signs and pendants in the shape of Shelter Island—are full of personality, much like the man himself. He also carries beautiful gemstone and precious-metal pieces made by his daughter Dori. The Bulova watches are an homage the company's long history, formerly in Sag Harbor.
Foodies unite—Sybille and Gerrit Van Kempen welcome you to their cookshop, stocked to the brim with unique cooking tools, kitchen accessories, tableware, flatware and silverware, linens, spices, and oils. Take home a Loaves and Fishes cookbook for a taste of the Hamptons at home, or take a cooking class at their school at the Bridgehampton Inn, just down the road. For shopping from a distance, they'll take you on a tour of the shop via FaceTime, then ship your purchases.

The building is a fixture in Greenport—a wharfside ship's chandlery dating from 1880—and Preston's continues the nautical theme with its inventory of marine supplies and clothing. Giftware includes scrimshaw, jewelry, sailing books, and all things nautical for the boat and home.
