Chef Jamie Parry creates wildly inventive dishes at this unassuming roadside diner about 8 miles east of Rhinebeck. Ingredients are locally sourced and seasonal, and selections may range from house-made mozzarella to crispy fried head-cheese. Sandwiches can be hearty like the duck confit cubano topped with roasted pork, Swiss cheese, pickles, and aioli or more delicate like the crab tartine with apple, radish, and cucumber on quinoa toast. Diet-busting fried potatoes topped with sriracha and hollandaise are worth every calorie. There's also an interesting list of wines and craft beers.
