Fodor's Expert Review Angel Fire Resort
10 Miller La., Angel Fire, New Mexico, 87710, USA
The centerpiece of New Mexico's most highly acclaimed four-season sports resort, this mid-range hotel is set at the mountain's base, a stone's throw from the chairlift. Indeed, winter is the busiest season here, but during the warmer months it's a popular retreat with hikers, golfers, and other outdoorsy types who appreciate retiring each evening to spacious digs. Even the standard rooms are 500 square feet, and the larger deluxe units have feather pillows, ski-boot warmers, and fireplaces. The resort also manages a variety of privately owned and somewhat more upscale condo units, from studios to three-bedrooms, which are available nightly or long-term. There are several decent restaurants at the resort, none worth a drive to Angel Fire solely on the merit of their cuisine, but Elements is quite good.
