Fodor's Expert Review ffrost Sawyer Tavern
That's not a typo, but an attempt to duplicate the quirky, obsolete rendering of the name of a former owner of this hilltop house. The eccentric stone basement tavern has its original wooden beams, from which hang collections of mugs, hats, and—no way around it—bedpans. Choose from fine dinner fare, such as grilled rib-eye steak with cippolini onions or potato-encrusted haddock. Lunch standards include burgers, pizza, and fish-and-chips. There's a terrific old bar.
