Fodor's Expert Review Cathouse

Handsome chef-about-town Kerry Simon left the Hard Rock Hotel in 2007 to open the first serious restaurant at the Luxor in years. Well, it's serious when it comes to food quality—one nibble of the prime fillet steak tartare with crispy artichoke, tomato, and onion brioche proves this perfectly. Cathouse is also silly, sly, and unabashedly scandalous, a playful homage to European bordellos, complete with scantily dressed servers, a foyer with peepholes, and faux bedchambers. Other standouts on the menu include lamb curry with Israeli couscous, and seared dayboat scallops with cauliflower risotto.
