Why We Like It

JW Marriott is a respite from the ordinary. For locals, it’s a first-rate choice for a staycation and for the out-of-towner, it’s a great way to immerse themselves in this area’s natural beauty, far from the neon glitz and hum of slot machines.

If you have a penchant for pampering and personal service—or if your plans include golfing or hiking—this stunner in Summerlin is for you. The sterling resort overlooks two golf courses, and Red Rock National Conservation Area is only a few miles away. Enormous rooms (starting at 561 square feet) have marble bathrooms with separate whirlpool tubs and raindrop showers. The small, low-key Rampart Casino is popular with locals (and was renovated in 2014). Another highlight includes Addison's Lounge, which hosts live music most nights a week. The waterfall pool is a relaxing place for sun and swimming, and at 40,000 square feet, Spa Aquae is one of the biggest and best in town.

Nothing flashy or over-the-top here--just a solid performer when it comes to hospitality. All guest rooms and suites have been redesigned, with lush bedding and pillowtop mattresses in every room, as well mini-refrigerators and coffeemakers.

YOU SHOULD KNOW A stay here will not necessarily give you the stereotypical Las Vegas experience (i.e., the Strip, nightclubs, etc.). With the abundant beauty of Red Rock Canyon just 10 miles away, it’s really more for the nature lover rather than the partyer. That being said, the Strip is easily accessible by car and you can party to your heart’s content.

LOCATION

Getting Around

Restaurants

Tivoli Village (10-minute drive) is a shopping center with endless choices for dining, including Hamptons, Canter’s Deli and Echo & Rig, a steakhouse/butcher shop that locally lauded. Honey Salt (10-minute drive), one of the most innovative restaurants in the city, has a farm-to-table-inspired menu that always surprises and delights.

Bars

Cork and Thorn, also at Tivoli Village, is perhaps one of the most unusual experiences you’ll ever have. Not so much a bar as a flower shop, floral artists create your floral arrangements in front of you as you sip from its libations menu of beer, wine, and Champagne. If you want to try your hand at flower arrangement, it also offers classes on a weekly basis.
