Fodor's Expert Review East Glacier

Outside Glacier National Park Town/Village

Early tourists to Glacier National Park first stopped in East Glacier, where the Great Northern Railway had established a station. Although most people coming from the east now enter by car through St. Mary, East Glacier, about 30 miles south, U.S. 89 to Highway 49, attracts visitors with its quiet, secluded surroundings and lovely Glacier Park Lodge.
