From steak houses to 1950s-style diners, American food is popular across the state, although most towns have a few Tex–Mex options and a Chinese or Indian restaurant or two. Bigger cities offer much more choice: expect to find everything from Spanish tapas bars to farm-to-table fusion cuisine. Get out into the deep countryside, however, and it’s Americana all the way.
