A short hop off congested Route 28 sits this imposing 1845 Greek Revival home. Built by a wealthy sea captain, this gorgeous property has been restored beautifully. Thoughtful amenities abound, from the soft bathrobes, beach supplies, and fresh flowers in each room to a selection of complimentary cordials. Check the web site for periodic special rates.

The tastefully decorated large rooms and suites have either antique or canopied beds, plush comforters, fancy drapes, and deep tile baths. Some have fireplaces and sundecks.

The Elisha Jenkins room can accommodate up to four guests, the only room in the inn able to. All other rooms have a maximum of two guests.

All but one of the marble bathrooms have large whirlpool tubs. High-end bath amenities and plush towels are luxurious.

A generous gourmet breakfast is served in the formal dining room or in the greenhouse-style interior courtyard; baked goods and coffee are available after hours. Each morning features a different homemade muffin, as well as different entrées, such as oatmeal buttermilk pancakes, caramel or peach French toast, Belgium waffles with strawberries and fresh cream, bacon and tomato quiche or Mexican egg wraps.


Complimentary cordials are offered in the afternoon.


Getting Around

You’ll need your car to get around the area, although you could also bring or rent a bike to explore.


Mooncusser’s Tavern Inn & Restaurant (13-minute drive) specializes in tapas, with a great specialty martini and wine list. Ocean House Restaurant (10-minute drive), overlooking Nantucket Sound, offers a Pan-Asian menu along with stunning views and its outdoor Beach Bar is a fun place to get a drink before or after dinner.


The Tavern at the Old Yarmouth Inn (11-minute drive), with its wood-paneled walls and fireplace is a cozy place to get a drink. The Sand Dollar Bar & Grill (7-minute drive) is a lively, casual spot with live entertainment every night in season.


This romantic and beautiful inn is a luxurious place to stay. Everything from the fresh flowers in your room to other thoughtful touches like beach towels to borrow show an attention to detail that makes every guest feel special. The front porch and the two acres of manicured grounds are lovely outdoor spaces.
