While the Seaport area is filling up with boutique hotels, there's not a ton of options right in the historic Fort Point area, giving the Residence Inn a real advantage.

The Residence Inn Downtown/Seaport is a beautiful addition to the Fort Point neighborhood. Originally built in 1901 and used as a sugar and molasses warehouse, it's now a modern extended-stay hotel that integrates its history into the present. (You can even still see the original boiler doors in the lobby!) For business travelers looking to be within walking distance of the Financial District or Seaport, the Residence Inn is an excellent choice.

Room
With 12-foot ceilings, oversized windows, and the beauty of 1900's post and beam construction, rooms at the Residence Inn aren't what you'd expect from a chain hotel. Suites feature living/sitting areas, sofa-beds, coffee makers, desks with ergonomic chairs, LCD TV's with cable and premium movie channels, and tables that seats 2. Rooms come with fully equipped kitchens with a refrigerator, stovetop, microwave, dishwasher, and all the dishes and cookies supplies you'd need. They all have lovely views of the cityscape.
Bathroom
Marble bathrooms are modern, with walk-in showers, bath products, and hair dryers.
Lobby
The lobby of the residence is is quite fascinating, thanks to the two original boiler doors left over from the property's time as a sugar and molasses storage facility. Boasting an industrial-chic vibe, there's plenty of colorful couches, tables and chairs for guests to socialize or get some work done.
Tip Do not miss the amazing atrium, an open air space inside the property where you can look up and see the building towering above you.
Gym
The 24-hour fitness center has lots of cardio equipment and free weights, and a cool view of the Fort Point neighborhood.
Dining
There is a full, complimentary buffet breakfast for guests at the Residence Inn. There's also a small market/convenience store inside where guests can pick up snacks or small items.

Getting Around
Folks travel through the Fort Point District either on foot, or by MBTA Silver Line. With just a 10-minute walk over the Channel, guests can easily catch the subway at the Red Line at South Station.
Restaurants
Row 34 (1-minute walk) is an audience and critical favorite in Boston, serving up delicious seafood and plenty of craft beer. For delicious pizza, head to Pastoral Artisan Pizza, Kitchen + Bar (2-minute walk). If you're really looking to splurge, head to Barbara Lynch's Menton (1-minute walk), a ritzy French-Italian hybrid. (Just be ready to empty your wallet!)
Bars
The Fort Point area is filled with cool bars, and several popular breweries. Drink (2-minute walk) is one of the most acclaimed craft cocktail bars in the entire country. If you're looking for a cool, retro-vibe bar, head to Lucky's Lounge (1-minute walk) right across the street.
