Fodor's Review

Editor's Note: This property is currently undergoing renovations.

Beside Glen Echo Park's parking lot is this monument to the founder of the American Red Cross. Built by the founders of Glen Echo village, Barton first used the structure to store Red Cross supplies; later it became both her home and the organization's headquarters. Today the building is furnished with period artifacts and many of her possessions. Access is by a 45-minute guided tour only.
