Fodor's Expert Review Lobster Pound Restaurant

$$ Lincolnville Seafood

If you're looking for an authentic place to enjoy a Maine lobster dinner, this is it. This large restaurant has rustic wooden picnic tables outside, an enclosed patio, and two dining rooms with a gift shop in between. Hundreds of live lobsters swim in tanks out back, so feel free to pick your own. There's a full bar, and the wine list includes some local labels. The classic "shore dinner deluxe" consists of lobster stew or fish chowder, steamed clams or mussels, fried clams, and a 1½-pound lobster, along with sides and dessert. Because this is such a big place, you won't have to wait long, even if it's busy. Right on U.S. 1, next to a small beach, the restaurant has beautiful views.
