Fodor's Expert Review Maurepas Foods
Editor's Note: This location is no longer in operation.
This relative newcomer and self-proclaimed purveyor of "robust cuisine" already has the lived-in charm of a corner store with a hip edginess. The menu changes depending on what the farmers pulled up that week or what the fishermen caught that day, and the eclectic dishes, like okra and farro with ginger syrup, duck meatballs with andouille hash, or a pork shoulder with apple butter, are designed to please the Southern-born eater who has traveled the globe a few times. The Bywater neighborhood has exploded with new restaurants, but Maurepas still stands out.
