Harrah's New Orleans Hotel
228 Poydras St., New Orleans, Louisiana 70130, USA
Why We Like It
It's a conveniently located, with many dining and recreational options on site. Spacious rooms make it a comfortable stay, while the decor and style of the hotel still give it a fun, casino vibe.
Besides its proximity to Harrah's Casino across the street, the hotel is minutes from the riverfront and many attractions of the CBD and French Quarter. Features like spacious rooms and an old world-style lobby of chandeliers and marble, make this hotel additionally appealing.
YOU SHOULD KNOW While in a separate building across the street, the hotel still mostly attracts casino-goers, and isn't a good choice for those who aren't gambling friendly.
room
Many rooms have river views, and standard rooms are larger than average. Rooms are done up in the signature purple and gold Harrah's colors, with plush beds and pillow-top mattresses.
bathroom
Large marble bathrooms have Gilchrist & Soames bath products, and most rooms have over-sized tubs.
lobby
Art displays, marble floors, and high ceilings with crown moldings and large chandeliers grace the spacious lobby.
gym
The gym offers a wide selection of state-of-the-art cardio and weight training machines.
dining
Ruth's Chris Steak House, an upscale chain originating in New Orleans, has an outlet right off of the lobby. There are quite a few other dining outlets in the casino, from the typical buffet, to hot dogs to late night pho and ramen.
drinking
One of the most enjoyable drinking options at Harrah's is the Gordon Biersch Brewery, a German biergarten-style pub with outdoor seating and a variety of taps. On the pedestrian walkway of Fulton Street, you'll also find Fulton Alley, a bowling alley and entertainment bar that makes for a fun night out.
YOU SHOULD KNOW Harrah's Casino is now smoke-free indoors, though there is a new smoking courtyard, where guests can smoke outdoors while playing slot machines.
