When to Go

Peak Season: May to September

Plan and book in advance. During an idyllic Indiana summer, temps can spike to the high 80s but with nighttime lows hovering in the 60s.

Off Season: November to February

The best hotel deals can be found this time of year. Although it’s the state’s low tourist season (average temperatures: low 40s and snow in the north), it’s high season for arts and culture and sports. Check sports schedules in cities like Lafayette, Bloomington, and Indianapolis as hotels often book up quickly.

Shoulder Season: October; March to April

There is no true "shoulder season" in Indiana. Hotel and other deals run hot and cold during fall and spring months, just like the weather (temperatures tend to average in the 50s).
