Fodor's Expert Review Russian Tea Time

$ The Loop Russian

Exotica is on the menu and in the air at this spot that's favored by visitors to the nearby Art Institute and the Symphony Center. Mahogany trim, samovars, and balalaika music set the stage for dishes from Russia and neighboring republics (the owners hail from Uzbekistan), including Ukrainian borscht, blinis (small, savory pancakes) with salmon caviar, Moldavian meatballs, and classic beef Stroganoff. Chilled vodka flights (three shots) certainly do help the herring go down.
