The Northeast coast makes a splash in the South Loop with this elegant enclave from chef-owner Ryan McCaskey. Dishes are fresh, inventive, and often have a slight modernist touch, such as the vegetable ash and oxtail prune consommé or the Stonington lobster with maitake mushrooms, salsify, and lobster crumble. While many fine-dining destinations offer both à la carte and a tasting menu, Acadia is unique in that its bar menu has its own set of upscale bites like Korean-style fried Jidori Chicken and Maine lobster rolls. And if choosing among the decadent desserts proves problematic, there is always the three-course dessert tasting for $35.
