Fodor's Expert Review The Brewseum

Kakaako

Editor's Note: This location is no longer in operation.

This charming brewpub wonderfully combines World War II memorabilia with small-craft brews. On the walls hang 1940s-era telephones that transmit actual archival radio transmissions through their receivers. Overhead, a model freight train chugs around the room, while model bomber planes fly over on a pulley system. There’s even an army jeep parked inside—everyone loves to have their photo taken in it. The Brewseum has its own label, Home of the Brave Brewing, and with each pint comes complimentary popcorn, or you can order a soft pretzel or a personal pizza. The bar and larger Home of the Brave operation is owned and run by the Tomlinson family, who treat each patron like ohana. They are looking to relocate their associated museum and speakeasy to Waikiki in the near future, where the Brewseum would eventually go as well.
