Fodor's Expert Review Olive Tree Cafe
An Iranian Hellenophile owns this bustling, self-serve café that dishes up the best taramasalata, falafel, and souvlaki in town. Stand in line at the counter to order while your companion tries to finagle one of the outdoor tables. It's BYOB, and you can get good wines next door at Olive Tree's sister gourmet shop, Oliver. There's no corkage fee, and they'll even lend you a corkscrew. Located behind Kahala Mall, this is a great option if you're headed back to town late from a day at the beach on the east side. But beware: this place gets crowded, and diners linger at the few tables inside and outside the little café. So get there early.

- Seriously good Greek food
- Unpretentious and somehow still charming
- BYOB (borrow their corkscrew)
