Fodor's Expert Review Koko Head Cafe
When Lee Anne Wong, best known as a competitor on the first season of Bravo's "Top Chef," moved to the Islands, foodies waited with bated breath for her first brick-and-mortar restaurant. And this is it: a lively and laid-back café in Kaimuki, where she took the concept of breakfast and flipped it, creating innovative dishes like the miso-smoked pork-and-onion omelet, cornflake French toast with billionaire's bacon and frosted flake gelato, and kimchi bacon cheddar scones. Try her signature dumplings—the subject of her first cookbook, Dumpings All Day Wong—which change daily. Feeling really adventurous? Try Elvis's Revenge: a peanut butter-and-banana tempura sandwich with her signature billionaire's bacon and honey. Opened in March 2014, its popularity hasn't waned at all, so expect crowds.
