Fodor's Expert Review Kakaako Kitchen
Kakaako has grown up around Russell Siu's masterpiece kitchen, where he serves high-quality plate lunches utilizing local, farm-to-table ingredients. Here, you can get a crab-and-avocado salad on toasted ciabatta or deep-fried pork chops topped with caramelized onion gravy and served with two scoops of either brown or white rice, and green salad instead of the usual mayo-laden macaroni salad. You order at the counter (be prepared to stand in line if you go right at noon), stake out a table, and wait for the food to come. BYOB, too, and there's no corkage fee.
