Fodor's Expert Review Trump International Hotel Waikiki Beach Walk

223 Saratoga Rd., Honolulu, Hawaii, 96815, USA

One of the chicest hotels on the Waikiki scene, the Trump has been drawing visitors since it opened in late 2009. Subtlety is not a strength, but indulgence is, and based on the reviews of enthusiastic guests returning again and again, the hotel delivers. The innovative sixth-floor lobby—with an infinity pool—allows guests to see over the tree line at Fort DeRussy to enjoy views of the Pacific while checking in. The rooms are luxurious, with Sub-Zero refrigerators, Wolf ranges, and signature pillow-top mattresses; service is equally good. The attaché desk will do your grocery and supply shopping for you for a small fee, and the hotel offers signature experiences across the island. It's across the street from the beach, but there's a designated stretch of sand with umbrellas for guests—and you'll be provided with a beach bag containing water, fresh fruit, and a towel. At night, experience "liquid artistry" at the posh Waiolu Ocean View Lounge, which has one of the best sunset views in Waikiki.
