Poipu Crater Resort

2330 Hoohu Rd., Poipu, Hawaii, 96756, USA

Fodor’s Expert Review

Set within a nicely landscaped resort built on an extinct volcanic crater known as Piha Keakua, or "place of the gods," these two-bedroom condominium units are fairly spacious, with large windows and high ceilings, and full kitchens. It's one of the best-priced properties with ocean and beach proximity; Keoniloa Bay (Shipwreck Beach) is a famous bodysurfing spot with a snapping shore break.

PROS

  • attractive and generally well kept
  • pretty setting on the South Shore
  • located just 700 yards from Keoniloa Bay (Shipwreck Beach)

CONS

  • beach isn't good for swimming
  • few resort amenities
  • individually owned units means upkeep and decor varies
