Published 01/20/2010

Fodor's Review

Located off Highway 11 at mile marker 70.5, the Kahuku section of the park takes visitors over many trails through ancient lava flows and native forests. Endangered plants and animals are on display in this beautiful but isolated region of Hawaii Volcanoes National Park, encompassing more than 116,000 acres of protected parklands. Guided hikes with knowledgeable rangers are a regularly scheduled highlight.
