Fodor's Review

Explore Southwest Georgia's agricultural heritage at the Georgia Museum of Agriculture and Historic Village. Located in Tifton, about an hour's drive north of Thomasville, the open-air museum consists of a traditional farm community from the 1870s, an 1890s progressive farmstead, an industrial-sites complex, and a rural town. Among the 35 restored structures are traditional houses, a forge, a turpentine still, a gristmill, and a cotton gin. On Saturdays, a logging train takes you through the woods to the village, where you can stroll the main street and visit the feed and seed store, the print shop, the drugstore, and the original Victorian home of Henry Harding Tift.
