Mulberry Inn

601 E. Bay St., Savannah, Georgia, 31401, USA

Fodor’s Expert Review

Editor's Note: This location is no longer in operation.

Once a livery stable, then a cotton warehouse, and then a Coca-Cola bottling plant, this 1860s landmark, with its white-painted brick facade and forest-green awnings, is today one that everyone in Savannah knows and loves. Gleaming heart-pine floors and antiques, including a handsome English grandfather clock and an exquisitely carved Victorian mantel, make this inn unique, and the pianist tickling the keyboard of a baby grand every afternoon adds to the elegant flair. The café is a notch nicer than most others of its class. An executive wing at the back of the hotel is geared to business travelers. Spend time with a book or cocktail in the giant brick courtyard.
