Fodor's Review

Editor's Note: This location is no longer in operation.

The hall of fame's location in Macon is a tribute to the city's extensive contribution to American music. The museum recognizes the Georgians who have helped define America's musical culture. Among the honorees are Ray Charles, James Brown, Little Richard, the Allman Brothers Band, Chet Atkins, R.E.M., and the B-52s. Exhibits also celebrate classical musicians, including Robert Shaw, the late director of the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra; opera singers Jessye Norman and James Melton; and violinist Robert McDuffie.
