Fodor's Expert Review Le Cellier Steakhouse
This popular, charming eatery with stone arches and dark woods transports diners to a well-heeled setting similar to a cozy Canadian château, offering a menu heavy on meat and a good selection of wines and Canadian beer. The à la carte menu includes signature Canadian specialties such as Prince Edward Island mussels, the mandatory cheddar cheese soup, and an extraordinary Black Angus rib eye with butternut squash. Of the many non-beef entrées, consider the brown butter-toasted gnocchi or the bouillabaisse. As a side, add on one of the two poutine offerings. Desserts pay tribute to the land up north with crème brûlée made with maple sugar or a classic Nanaimo cake.
