Fodor's Expert Review South Florida Museum and Parker Manatee Aquarium

Bradenton Museum/Gallery

Snooty, the oldest manatee in captivity, is the headliner here. Programs about the endangered marine mammals run four times daily, and the first-floor gallery features fossils that tell the story of prehistoric Florida. View changing exhibits in the East Gallery; glass cases and roll-out drawers on the second floor allow you to look at exhibits normally out of public view. At the Bishop Planetarium (with a domed theater screen), programs presented range from black holes to the origin of life itself.
