This local craft brewery and tasting room is something of an oasis within the Warehouse Arts District, but it's close enough to Central Avenue to be within easy walking distance from Tropicana Field and the restaurants of the Grand Central District (or drive/trolley ride from downtown). On tap in this converted industrial space is a spate of excellent creations made in-house (their Bimini Twist IPA is a favorite). There's live music some nights as well as a few game options.

Northern Pinellas County is a hotbed for craft brewing. This small tasting room features this brewery's offerings, largely Belgian-style, spirit barrel-aged sour beer as well as IPAs, and a handful of others. It's near downtown Dunedin's shopping, dining, and nightlife and isn't too far from the Pinellas Trail.

Situated in the courtyard of an office building just off trendy Beach Drive, this establishment is a live-music hub—mostly jam bands—as well as the cornerstone of St. Petersburg's exploding craft beer scene. Fans of IPAs, saisons, stouts, you name it, will find their beer of choice somewhere amid the lengthy list of brews on tap. There's some seating inside, but all the action happens outside in the courtyard, where there are plenty of tables and a makeshift band shell. Patrons are welcome to grab food from one of the complex's several restaurants to go along with their brews. Although it's a late-night draw, kids and dogs are welcome.

Offering the fruits of the adjacent Cigar City brewery, the large tasting room here puts Tampa on the map for craft beer enthusiasts. On tap, it offers mainstay brews like Jai Alai IPA and Maduro Brown Ale as well as an interesting rotation of seasonal beers. It's a spot with friendly staff and generally good music. But beware: happy hour can be packed.

If frozen DayGlo concoctions spinning around in washing machine–like mechanisms are your thing, this place should certainly be on your list. If not, this is still a good go-to weekend watering hole on Madeira Beach (technically, it's across the street from the beach). In addition to selections like the Grape Ape and the Voodoo Loveshake, there's a respectable selection of beer on tap and a full bar. Entertainment includes some excellent funk and rock bands Thursday through Sunday. The food menu includes loads of seafood, of course (oysters are a winner), and the late-night menu is served until 1:30 am.

Tampa Bay is seen by many as a flourishing craft beer hub. If it weren't for Dunedin Brewery, that might not be the case. It was the first of its kind in the area and continues to offer delicious brews to throngs of patrons. It doesn't hurt that it offers live music many nights of the week, either.

Spanish pirate José Gaspar was known for swashbuckling up and down Florida's west coast in the late 18th and early 19th century. His legend has inspired a massive, raucous street festival each winter. This Ybor City drinkery has adopted his name, and rightly so. Decked out in tons of pirate memorabilia, it's the cornerstone to any night spent barhopping on the Ybor strip. The sangria is a good choice, but the aged rums may be a better fit here. You'll also find a food menu that goes well beyond standard bar fare.

With spacious indoor and outdoor seating, this taproom, beer garden, and event venue in St. Petersburg’s Grand Central District is an excellent place to grab a brew and connect with friends or enjoy community events. They serve everything from lagers and lighter styles to hoppy IPAs and darker beers (they make some tasty stouts!) and sours. Expansion plans include the addition of a LALA, featuring French-inspired American cuisine, craft cocktails, and private karaoke rooms.

The name of this bar is a nod to the green benches that once lined Central Avenue, which retirees occupied in a bygone era. St. Pete has shaken its rap as a sleepy retirement town, and this brewery embodies the Sunshine City's recent emergence as a craft beer town. Barkeeps here serve brews made on-site as well as a few guest kegs. The interior has a lodgelike feel (as much as a bar can in Florida), but the real atmosphere lies outside, where Adirondack chairs and badminton sets are scattered across the lawn. It's also conveniently located a couple of blocks from Tropicana Field, so the place can get packed before and after the Rays play.

This is a default stop for tourists and locals alike. The newly renovated, open-air beach bar has seating for all as well as several full bars. It overlooks the vast dunes leading down to the beach. There's live music virtually every afternoon and each night on one of two stages. The beer selection isn't too exotic here, but they make a mean mai tai. The food menu is mostly bar food.

Until very recently, Tampa Bay's beach towns were something of a craft beer dead zone, even as the rest of the region teemed with such establishments. This spot, located in John's Pass, is a shining example of how things are changing. Most of the beers on tap are brewed on-site, though there are a few guest taps. Although there is plenty of space at the bar, the barroom is massive and styled after a German beer hall, large tables and all. There's foosball and indoor beanbag tossing if you're feeling competitive, live music many nights, and a menu featuring bar food.

If you want to scope out some vintage jazz, blues, or swing, this is the place to do it. It has much better ventilation than most other bars downtown (despite being attached to a cigar bar), and you can bring your beverages to one of the outdoor tables—if you can snag one. It's also a great place to find a unique cocktail.

In addition to playing one of the hundreds of Vegas-style slot machines, gamers can get their kicks at the casino's poker tables and video-gaming machines. A welcoming spot just off the main drag in downtown, this tasting room offers tons of craft beer options (the St. Pete Orange Wheat is a longtime local favorite). There's plenty of outdoor and indoor seating, and the clientele tends to be friendly. It's not far from St. Pete's dining and other nightlife. If you are looking to bring your dog, this is one of the best places to have a beer.

If you happen to be riding on the Pinellas Trail between Clearwater and Tarpon Springs, this place is right on the trail. It's also right on Alternate U.S. 19, though it can be hard to spot from the road since it's in a small strip mall. Beers are brewed on-site (like the Norbert's Valkyrie Belgian Tripel or the Soul Candy Milk Stout), though there are also some guest taps. There's always a friendly crowd. Off to the side you'll notice a small room packed with vintage video games.

Perhaps the epitome of downtown St. Pete's bold transformation into a stylish nightlife destination, this place exudes a classy yet jubilant speakeasy vibe. Just as vintage as the decor is the drinks menu, which features numerous classic cocktails (made the old-fashioned way), tasty concoctions you'll find nowhere else, and craft beers. You'll find either live music or a DJ most nights. On weekends you can get a mean Bloody Mary when the bar opens early.

If you find yourself in Southside Village after dinner and are looking for a watering hole that offers live music, look no further. This spot has been one of Sarasota's key music venues for years. Musical offerings differ by night, but you can expect to hear blues, jazz, or rock covers on a given night. If you're looking for a more upscale club, look elsewhere; this is a no-frills kind of place.
