Fodor's Expert Review The Vinoy Renaissance St. Petersburg Resort & Golf Club
501 5th Ave. NE, St. Petersburg, Florida, 33701, USA Fodor's Choice
Built in 1925 (making it roughly the same vintage as the Don CeSar), the Vinoy is a luxury resort in St. Petersburg's gorgeous Old Northeast. Thoughtful renovations keep its yesteryear glamour and spot on the National Register of Historic Places. Those on the bay side have better views of Tampa Bay, though for a higher price tag, of course. The beaches are about 15 to 20 minutes away, but the Vinoy is within walking distance to key attractions like the Museum of Fine Arts, the Dalí Museum, and Beach Drive, the vibrant shops, and restaurants. Other offerings include access to a Ron Garl–designed golf course with a stunning clubhouse, an expansive marina, and pool attendants who deliver drinks. Restaurants include swanky Marchand's, mellow Alfresco's, and exclusive Fred's.
