St. Augustine Beach

This quiet beach, located south of St. Augustine, once played a role in the civil rights movement of the 1960s. It attracted national attention for a "wade-in" that later led to Martin Luther King Jr. visiting St. Augustine. Today, it is a county park that still provides access to the beachfront. Amenities: lifeguards (seasonal); parking (no fee); showers; toilets. Best for: swimming; walking.
