Perricone's Marketplace and Café
Fodor’s Expert Review
Brickell Avenue south of the Miami River is a haven for Italian restaurants, and this lunch place for local bigwigs is arguably the best and most popular. It's housed partially outdoors and partially indoors in an 1880s barn that was brought down from Vermont. Recipes were handed down from generation to generation, and the cooking is simple and good. Buy your wine from the on-premises deli, and enjoy it (for a small corkage fee) with homemade minestrone; a generous antipasto; linguine with a sauté of jumbo shrimp, scallops, and calamari; or gnocchi with four cheeses. The homemade tiramisu and cannoli are top-notch.
