Fodor's Expert Review Kaskades South Beach

300 17th St., Miami Beach, Florida, 33139, USA

Though it’s not directly on the beach—it’s across the street—this boutique hotel offers fabulous, style- and value-conscious accommodations in the heart of South Beach. The adorable 24-room hotel was originally designed as an apartment complex by noted architect Melvin Grossman in 1953, and in its head-to-toe conversion into a hotel, added extraspacious bathrooms with spa bathtubs and Japanese toilets. Sun worshippers looking for R&R can chill on the rooftop deck, but those looking for more of a scene can hang out at the swimming pool of the neighboring sister property, The Gale (which also houses two nightlife venues and the restaurant Dolce Italian). Complimentary breakfast as well as a daily complimentary wine-and-cheese hour are included in the price.

  • complimentary wine hour
