Fodor's Expert Review Ah-Tah-Thi-Ki Museum

Western Suburbs and Beyond Indigenous Sight

Beyond the western suburbs of Broward County and a couple of miles from Billie Swamp Safari is Ah-Tah-Thi-Ki Museum, which means "a place to learn, a place to remember" in the Seminole language. This Smithsonian Institution Affiliate documents the living history and culture of the Seminole Tribe of Florida through artifacts, exhibits, and experiential learning. There's a mile-long boardwalk above the swamplands (wheelchair-accessible) that leads you through the Big Cypress Seminole Indian Reservation. At the midpoint of the boardwalk, you can take a break at the re-created ceremonial grounds.
