Fodor's Expert Review Ghost Town Guest House
25850 County Rd. 162, Nathrop, Colorado, 81236, USA
Although it looks like one of the old buildings in this authentic ghost town, this guesthouse is actually a modern structure built by a couple who decided to get away from urban living. Inside, there's an attractive living room and dining area for guests, plus three bedrooms with gas-log fireplaces, claw-foot soaking tubs, and great views of the surrounding woods. If you want to hike in the summer or snowshoe in the winter, the trails are just outside the door. Breakfasts include hand-kneaded breads. Suppers are down-home cooking, often with soups and stews that have been simmering on the stove for hours.
