A few blocks from the historic Old Monterey, this modern hotel has a cool, adobe style. Two greenery-filled courtyards have a fountain and hot tub. Rooms—all of them junior suites—are updated Spanish colonial, with featherbeds, hardwood floors, fireplaces, and balconies or patios. The rates include afternoon tea, fruit, and cheese.
