Fodor's Expert Review Pirate Ship

Big Bear Lake Family

Featured in the 1981 movie Time Bandits, this small-scale replica of a 17th-century English galleon cruises Big Bear Lake. During the 90-minute tour, the ship travels along the southern lakeshore to 6,743-foot-high Big Bear Dam, passing big bay-front mansions, some owned by celebrities, along the way. With the crew dressed up like pirates, the cruise is popular with kids. There's a bar for adults, but no dining on board.
