Fodor's Review

Brought to you by the same team that operates the Marina's wildly popular A16, SPQR is a modern Italian spot known for Chef Matthew Accarrino's inventive, hyperseasonal cooking. You'll find antipasti (the chicken liver is a favorite), superlative pastas like smoked fettuccine with sea urchin, and mains, like suckling pork. The casualness, with travel posters on the wall, attracts a dedicated neighborhood following of all ages, which means a wait. Singles and walk-in couples can opt for a seat at the two counters (one looks into the galley kitchen). The Italian wine list is also full of gems. This is a comfortable lunch destination on the weekends, when it's tough to snag one of the few outdoor tables.
